Thank you for joining Ms Kathy at Athens Riverfront Park for engaging STEM activities and projects around a theme.

Monday, August 31st: Make moving toys without batteries. We’ll make automata toys from both 3D printed frames and make out own with cardboard. To celebrate the end of summer, let’s launch some more Mentos and Soda too, now that we’ve figured the best recipe for the tallest geyser.

Monday, August 24th: Kid Architects! Build a fingerboard park, a home and oasis for a stuffie pet, a garden, playground or a model of your future house and yard. Monday at 4pm at Riverfront Park. Focused on kids ages 7 to 12, but younger kids are welcome with an adult helper.

Monday, August 17th: BUILD. RACE. EXPLORE!  Kids will get hands-on experience designing, crafting, and racing their very own custom toy cars. It is the perfect blend of engineering, art, and high-energy outdoor fun!  

Monday, August 10th: Take Flight! We’ll fly gliders, rockets and more! Of course, we’ll check on the monarchs too. Targeted for kids ages 7-12. Younger kids invited with an adult helper. We had the surprise pleasure of tadpole guests, both very young and some whose legs were growing.

Monday, August 3rd: Dropping a certain candy in soda will cause an amazing geyser, as we’ve all heard or seen. Is there anything else that rivals that sky-high reaction? Maybe we could make an even bigger geyser. Let’s try it! We’ll even bring the safety goggles. We’ll check to see how the monarchs are growing too. Rain or shine, but not thunderstorms.

Monday, July 27th: WATER projects and activities. Make giant bubbles, a rubber band boat (to take home), use a water wheel to generate electricity and more! Best for children 7-12, or younger with an adult to help. Rain or shine.

Monday, July 20th: The SUN! Make a solar oven to take home plus a sundial and more activities! Best for children 7-12, or younger with an adult to help. Rain or shine.

Monday, July 13th: Air may be invisible, but it can be quite powerful. From balloon cars (to take home) to hoverboards and enormous balloons, we have lots of exciting activities and challenges planned. Join us at Athens Riverfront Park. Suitable for children 7-12 and younger children with an adult to help.
